The dosage will vary depending on the amount of nutrients present in the raw material, the stress of the raw material and the percentage of alcohol by volume at which it is fermented.

Recommended dosages for various fermentation systems:

• Sugar mash (sucrose) 14% alcohol 2 grams/litre.
• Sugar mash 18% alcohol 3 grams/litre.
• Dextrose mash 21% alcohol 3.5 grams/litre.
• Sugar cane mash max. 12% 1.7 grams/litre.
• Molasses mash max. 12% 1.7 grams/litre.
• Fruit wine 12-14% alcohol 0.40–0.80 g/litre (depending on the proportion of fruit in the must).
• Fruit wine 18% 1–2 grams/litre (depending on the proportion of fruit in the must).
• Wine from grape concentrate 12–14% 0.40–0.80 grams/litre (depending on the proportion of concentrate in the must).
• Wine from grape concentrate 18% 1–2 grams/litre (depending on the proportion of fruit in the must).
• Wine from pressed grapes 12-14% up to 0.50 grams/litre (depending on the nutritional value of the grape must).
• Wine from pressed grapes 18% up to 1 gram/litre (depending on the nutritional value of the grape must).
• Cider 5% 0.15-0.30 grams/litre (depending on the proportion of fruit/concentrate in the must).
• Mead 12% 1-1.5 grams/liter Mead 18% 2-2.5 grams/liter.
